EVENT SPACE
Looking for a venue for your next event?
Book Mackin House and enjoy your next celebration or company function in a 1909 Edwardian-era heritage home! Reflective of the time period, our interior is decorated with period-specific furniture and wallpaper. A warm fireplace and the homey atmosphere will transport your guests back in time. Outside, we have a lovely garden as well as a historical train station and caboose that guests can visit. There are exhibits on the upper floor of the museum that guests can view.
We also offer different interactive activities that can be added to your booking, including:
-
Learn about the use of light and heating during the early 1900s and make a rolled beeswax candle to take home.
-
Work together in groups to bake apple muffins in our old-fashioned kitchen to enjoy.
-
Learn about the different ways to churn cream into butter and taste the results afterwards.
-
Learn how to connect clues from select artifacts, handle different objects, and put together a story using the items collected.
-
Learn about the art and architecture of the Arts & Crafts movement and design your own printmaking foam block inspired by our heritage wallpaper.
-
Enjoy a tour of Mackin house followed by tea and scones in our dining room
-
We will provide a craft activity for children based on the theme of the event.
