K-pop burst onto the Korean music scene in the 90s with Seo Taiji and the Boys, and has since grown throughout the past decades into the international cultural powerhouse it is today. But what is the history of the early Korean music that influenced and gave rise to K-pop? Join us during BC Culture Days for our Roots of K-pop event, featuring a temporary five-month long exhibit at the Mackin House,* culminating in a live DJ performance on Saturday, September 28. DJs from KTV Media Production will broadcast live from Mackin House and spin their own approaches and point of view on how they see the roots of K-pop.
Refreshments and snacks will be provided.
10am: Museum open for guests
11am-12pm: Live broadcast
12pm-4pm: People welcome to view our exhibits while enjoying snacks and drinks
